Poggio alla Regina

The Castle of the Counts Guidi, feudal lords who for centuries dominated the Apennine ridges and also along the valley floor between Casentino, Valdarno and Romagna, is currently an archaeological site ‘sealed’ by the time of his sudden and final abandonment, which occurred around the third quarter of the fourteenth century.

The site, which is proving to be one of the most important fortified settlements deep sea of Valdarno, is mentioned in the written sources, among the centuries XI – XIV, as Castiglione della Corte, a fief by Guidi to the Pazzi of the Valdarno from the late sec. XII

The ruins are within a short time from Reggello along path CAI 17.ù
