The Castle of the Counts Guidi, feudal lords who for centuries dominated the Apennine ridges and also along the valley floor between Casentino, Valdarno and Romagna, is currently an important archaeological site.

The site, which is proving to be one of the most important fortified settlements of Valdarno, is mentioned in the written sources of the XI-XIV centuries.
